Portraits of the Shadow

In this body of work, I was drawn to the complexity and diversity of human emotional states, which are often difficult to articulate. I have focused on using portraiture as a medium to capture and convey the intangible aspects of our experiences. While facial gestures and expressions are physical entities that we can perceive with our senses, I am interested in exploring the emotional layers that exist beyond this physicality.
Through the use of colour, texture, and deformed shapes, I have created a body of work that draws out the latent emotional responses to human conditions. Through the use of light and shadow, and brushwork, I have sought to create a visual language that illustrates the depth and richness of these emotions.
